Professional Summary
How should organizations allocate resources when they act on the same system, their actions interact, and no one is in charge? I build network optimization models for decisions that cross agency and firm boundaries, grounded in structured expert elicitation and administrative data, to show when coordination is worth its cost. PhD defense scheduled 2 December 2026.

2024 Enhancing detection of labor violations in the agricultural sector: A multilevel generalized linear regression model of H-2A violation counts
PLOS ONE, 19(5), e0302960. Refereed journal article
A multilevel regression model of H-2A visa and labor violations, built to help the U.S. Department of Labor target limited investigative capacity toward the producers most associated with violations, including those that can indicate labor trafficking.

2026 Collaboration in anti-trafficking efforts: A network interdiction problem with multiple dependent attacks
Job market paper. Working paper, results analysis. Target: Production and Operations Management, September 2026
What happens to a coordinated enforcement decision when several agencies act on the same part of a network and their actions do not combine independently. Defines the class of functions satisfying four axioms rather than assuming one algebraic form, and gives an exact linearization with dual bounds. Two results are aimed at a management audience: the cost of assuming independence, and the coordination gap between a centralized task force and the same agencies spending separately.
-
2026 Multiple attacks in network interdiction problems: A scoping review
Working paper. Revision complete. Target: Networks, submitting September 2026
A PRISMA-ScR review registered on OSF, across four databases with two independent reviewers screening and extracting. Establishes that independence, or the absence of same-element multiplicity altogether, is the norm in the literature. Registered protocol: https://pridrum.github.io/assets/pdf/Drummond_ScR_Protocol_2024.pdf

2026 Network interdiction to improve labor trafficking detection in the U.S. agricultural sector
Revise and resubmit at Decision Sciences
Applies network interdiction to collaborative detection across the Department of Labor and the Department of Homeland Security.
-
2026 Optimal bounds and complexity for network interdiction with multiple interventions
Working paper. Results analysis. Target: Operations Research
Under a logarithmic transform the problem is shortest-path interdiction and therefore NP-hard. The claim is narrower and more useful: structure discovery is polynomial and independent of the choice of function, and the optimal intervention can be restricted to a candidate set determined by which parts of the network are in play.
-
2026 Algorithms for network interdiction problems with non-convex functional attacks
Working paper. Model and algorithm ready, coding in progress. Target: European Journal of Operational Research
A three-phase procedure, structure recovery, depth determination, and budget allocation with re-optimization after each commitment, verified against exhaustive enumeration on instances small enough to permit it, and reported by structural case.
-
2026 Unintended consequences of enforcement in labor trafficking networks: geographic displacement, operational fragmentation, and compliance switching
Research in progress. Ideation and literature review stage, resuming after degree completion. Target: Manufacturing and Service Operations Management
When poorly coordinated enforcement displaces an operation or fragments it rather than disrupting it, and what a decision-maker can do about that in advance.
-
2026 Teaching fellowship impact on industrial engineering teaching education: An auto-ethnographic account by a student
Research in progress. Data collection, cleaning and initial literature review ready, resuming after degree completion. Target: Journal of Engineering Education
Narrative and autoethnographic analysis of how mentored teaching shapes an instructor’s confidence and identity.
