Manufacturing Production and Control covers production planning, scheduling, inventory, and the control systems that hold them together.

What I did

I delivered bi-weekly research seminars and gave project feedback on student work carried out with industry partners.

The industry-partnered projects are the part I took forward into my own teaching. Students were not working a case written for them. They were working a real problem for a company that would read the answer, which meant the data was incomplete, the objective was contested, and someone still had to decide. That is the condition I now build into every course I design.

This was also the period of my own master’s work in the same department, evaluating the network of services for survivors of domestic and gender-based violence across more than 450 municipalities in Rio Grande do Sul.
